Step 1. Attend our Orientation Workshop, held monthly, for free.  Learn about the resources available through the MWBC and within the community to help you to start and grow your business.
Step 2. Attend the ABC’s of Starting a Business, held monthly.  Learn more about the process of registering and starting a business in Maryland.  This workshop will provide you with plenty of materials and answer many of the questions you have—or didn’t even think to ask! Skip to Step 4!
Step 3. Develop your Business Plan.  We strongly encourage you to complete your business plan—and in the process you will research your industry, analyze your competition, establish your pricing, write a marketing plan, evaluate your financial needs, and develop a business model that will lead to growth and success.  Start by looking at the business plan resources on our website, register for one of our Business Plan workshops, or take an on-line class to benefit from outside input! Skip to Step 4!
Step 4. Meet with a professional to get your specific questions answered. MWBC is pleased to offer a few hours of free counseling to women entrepreneurs who are starting a business AND have completed the first three steps above.  To make an appointment for free counseling, please contact our Business Counselors, Angie Duncanson in Prince George’s County and Martha Jimenez in Montgomery County, or call our office at:  301-315-8091.  Our Business Counselors will contact you to learn more about how we can help you and to schedule an appointment.

Los servicios de asesoramiento empresarial están disponibles en español. Para hablar con un consejero bilingüe, comuníquese con Martha P. Jimenez al 301-355-2206 o martha@marylandwbc.org.
