Chiquita Jackson is the new Associate Business Consultant for Prince George’s County. She is an alumnus of Columbia College of Missouri, receiving her Political Science and Sociology degree. As a rising leader and Detroit native, she is an experienced advocate for civil rights and liberties. Her passion lies in serving underrepresented communities by providing economical access to professional development resources.
Throughout her experience, Chiquita has interned for several elected officials, including Kansas’s first African-American state Senator Oletha Faust-Goudeau (D-KS), the youngest state Representative Jewell Jones (D-MI), and U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD). During her time with Sen. Cardin, she assisted in drafting congressional floor statements for Black History Month and the centennial anniversary of Women’s Suffrage. Chiquita also worked as a 2021-2022 Public Allie with George Washington University, where Chiquita served as the facilitator for GWU and D.C. Greenbank University Alliance program. As well as, working with other influential D.C. organizations such as NETWORK Advocates for Social Justice, Common Cause, and the Hub Project, where she organized and led multi-state campaigns, hosted training, and spoke on legislation impacting the working and low-class.
Chiquita plans to support her commitment to social justice and racial equity through the pursuit of obtaining her law degree and becoming a civil rights attorney to disrupt generational poverty.
