SUMMARY:Women-Owned Business Certifications: Making Sense of the new WOSB/EDWOSB Requirements
DESCRIPTION:[su_button url=”https://mdwbc.ecenterdirect.com/events/787711″ background=”#ef2d3b” size=”12″ center=”yes”]CLICK HERE TO REGISTER![/su_button] \nJoin the Maryland Women’s Business Center\, Women’s Business Center at Community Business Partnership\, and Virginia Procurement Technical Assistance Center for a colalborative webinar deciphering the new Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) certification requirements. \nRecently the SBA changed the process for qualifying for WOSB and EDWOSB.  There is a lot of misinformation and lack of clarity about these changes that may impact your status as a WOSB/EDWOSB.  This webinar will clear up some of the confusion and help guide you on how to become a certified WOSB/EDWOSB. Some topics covered will be: \n\nHow do I use 3rd party certification?\nWhere do I apply for certification?\nWhat are the important deadlines for certification?\nHow long am I self certified?\n\nAbout our presenter: Ms. Lisa Wood holds a MBA from the University of New Haven and a BSBA through the Robert Morris University of Pittsburgh. Lisa is currently pursuing her PhD in Instructional Management and Leadership (School of Education and Social Sciences) with Robert Morris University of Pittsburgh. She previously was the Statewide Director of the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC) for the Connecticut PTAC and prior to that was Statewide Director with the Ohio Department of Development after serving as PTAC Director for the Northwest Commission of Pennsylvania. Before joining the PTAC community\, Lisa was a Contracting Officer for Bechtel Plant Machinery\, Inc. in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. In her prior roles\, Wood performed contract administration and negotiation duties. She also recommended bidders\, handled issue inquiries\, negotiated bids\, performed cost and price analysis\, and prepared comprehensive letters to justify recommended contract actions. \n  \n  \nNote Our Policies: Refunds or comps are available for classes cancelled by MWBC. All other refunds are not provided. MWBC only accepts credit card payments for training sessions. Attendees will not be permitted to enter the classroom until payment is received. Walks-in registrations are accepted only at the Montgomery County location. Register early to guarantee a seat. Women and men are invited to attend our training workshops.
