Our friends at the Center for Global Business (CGB) at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland have THREE exciting programming opportunities for companies to participate in this summer. Each program pairs businesses with talented students to help with globalization efforts. Programs run from June 5-August 11, 2023, and two-thirds of the program cost is reimbursable through the ExportMD grant if you are a Maryland company and qualify for the grant.

The deadline to apply for the programs is Sunday, April 2. The application for all programs is the same. Once a company applies, Marina Augoustidis, associate director of CGB, will be in touch with the company to schedule a meeting to understand needs, address questions, and enroll the company in the right program. The Marketing Maryland Internship Program is an opportunity for companies to work with two trained Maryland Smith undergraduate interns to support their digital marketing and website globalization through the summer. Interns will each work directly for the company for 15 to 20 hours per week from June 5 to August 11, 2023, in a remote environment. Project support may include website optimization for international eCommerce, website tracking and analytics, search engine optimization, website localization, and/or global social media strategy and analysis. The cost to the client is $5,000 for two undergraduate interns. Two-thirds of the $5,000 fee is reimbursable through the ExportMD grant if you are a Maryland company and qualify for the grant.

The Manufacturing Maryland Internship Program is an opportunity for companies to work with two trained Maryland Smith undergraduate interns to support their global operations and supply chain efforts through the summer. Interns will each work directly for the company for 15 to 20 hours per week from June 5 to August 11, 2023, in a remote environment. Project support may include risk management, logistics and transportation, operations management, technology applications, and strategy and analysis. The cost to the client is $5,000 for two undergraduate interns. Two-thirds of the $5,000 fee is reimbursable through the ExportMD grant if you are a Maryland company and qualify for the grant.

 

 

The Maryland Global Consulting Program is an opportunity for companies to work with a team of 3-5 business graduate students to expand their global business or solve an international business challenge, and get a consultant’s perspective. The student team will provide approximately 10 hours of consulting toward the project per week from June 5 to August 11, 2023. Consulting projects may include market assessments, market entry strategies, identification of distributors, or export distribution plans. The cost to the client is $5,000 for a team of three to five students. Two-thirds of the $5,000 fee is reimbursable through the ExportMD grant if you are a Maryland company and qualify for the grant.
