Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC) is committed to supporting economic growth Maryland’s female entrepreneurs, especially during this uncertain time when businesses are planning and responding to COVID-19.

The State of Maryland has created a portal on its website for businesses impacted by COVID-19, which offers information and additional resources to help businesses navigate this unprecedented event.

This online coronavirus portal also includes a list of FAQs that many businesses will find helpful. Answers to questions include information about:

  • business tax questions,
  • guidelines for employers,
  • fair labor standards,
  • insurance claims,
  • opportunities for financial assistance,
  • statewide closures, and more.

If business owners have specific questions not answered by the FAQs, please email them to Secretary.Commerce@maryland.gov.

Last week, the Small Business Administration released information about disaster assistance in response to the coronavirus, including the possibility of Economic Injury Disaster Loans. We are awaiting information that the State has taken action so we can encourage affected businesses to apply for relief if it becomes available. Click here to download the PDF.

Maryland’s state agencies are working collaboratively to quickly answer questions and help businesses remain operational and minimize economic impact, while safeguarding Maryland residents from COVID-19.

MWBC will continue to share information and updates as they relate to our business community.
